U.S. Soccer Member Organizations to Begin Conducting In-Person Grassroots Coaching License Courses
February 2, 2018
U.S. Soccer is launching four new in-person Grassroots License Courses tailored to different age groups (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11), along with an updated D License Course. Each 4-hour course combines classroom and field-based instruction covering coaching philosophy, the Play-Practice-Play methodology, and the Six Tasks of a Grassroots Coach.
Coaches must first complete a free Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module available through U.S. Soccer’s Digital Coaching Center.
“Grassroots is where soccer begins. These early experiences spark a child’s love for the game.” — Nico Romeijn, U.S. Soccer Director of Coaching Education
Local member organizations handle scheduling, pricing, and course availability.
